Complete ‘Step By Step’ Installation.

In this video, I walk you through the installation of a 36″x60″ custom tile shower.

1. Start by installing the Schluter Kerdi shower kit.
2. Install brace boards on walls to run tile pattern below accent strip.
3. 12″x24″ ceramic tiles will be installed on walls up to the accent strip.
4. Prepare to run 12″x24″ tiles above accent trip by installing the second run of brace boards.
5. Install 12″x24″ tiles above accent strip (let dry overnight).
6. Remove brace boards, scrape excess mortar and patch holes with Kerdi.
7. Install glass mosaic accent strip.
8. Install tile on the face and backside of the shower curb (ensuring a slop into the shower for water runoff).
9. Install double bullnose tile on top of curb running them perpendicular.
10. Install the bottom row of wall tile to complete large wall pattern.
11. Install wall tile or mosaic in recessed niche and bullnose on inner edges.
12. Run bullnose up both shower walls on the outer side of surround to create a finished look.
13. After you have installed tile, it is safe to grout the shower to complete the installation of your custom tile shower.
14. Let sit for 72 hours before giving a final cleaning.
15. If desired, apply grout sealer.
