Installation Overview
This laminate floor installation was installed in Green, Ohio in two bedrooms on the second floor. base trim was already installed. We tore out carpet and tack strips. We installed Quietwalk underlayment and Mohawk Industries stone hearth oak laminate plank Uniclic system. This install was rather easy, the subflooring was level and the house was only a few years old which was a great environment for a new installation. After installing the underlayment and laminate plank flooring we had to install shoe molding to overlap the new floor system. Overall, the customers were very happy with this product and the time frame in which it was completed. I highly recommend this laminate flooring if you are considering your options for a new floor system.
Challenges
This installations was pretty point and click. The only thing that slowed down the process of this job was the sliding closet doors in both bedrooms which needed to be removed and reinstalled according to the new floor height of the laminate floor system. The bed in the second bedroom was massive and had to be moved to one side of the room to install the laminate then carefully placed on the new flooring to finish the room. Another time sucker was the install on the second floor which added time by hauling material and tools up and down the stairs. A lot of customers and installers don’t realize how much time it takes to do an install on the second floor oppose to the first floor. Other than that, the project went smoothly.
